Beaches of Samos
The beaches of Samos, pebbly, sandy or between rocky coastlines, are spread along the entire length of the coast of the island, next to green landscapes. Two of them have been awarded the Blue Flag for 2014, 2016 and 2017, Glykoriza beach and Potokaki beach.

Gagkou
On the northeast coast of the island, less than two kilometers away from the capital lies the small (about 200 meters long) pebbly beach “Gagkou”. The beach is in the bay of Vathy, has relatively shallow waters and is sheltered from the winds. It has been awarded a blue flag many times and is equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds. After swimming, visitors can enjoy a meal at the local taverns. In the Gagkou area, there are hotels and rented rooms and the fact that it is very close to the capital makes access very easy, even on foot. Visitors residing in the area have the opportunity to choose the kind of fun they want, in the island’s capital with its numerous bars and restaurants.

Kerveli
At a distance of about 8 km southeast of the capital lies the pebbled beach Kerveli (about 200 meters long). Located on the east coast of the island, it has quite shallow waters and is sheltered from the winds. The beach is surrounded by lush greenery, it is not organized and is ideal for a quiet swim. Close by there are restaurants, small hotels and rented rooms with a wonderful view to the opposite coast of Asia Minor. It is an ideal location for those seeking quiet, family and relaxing holiday. For nature lovers, a local hotel features an organized diving center (PADI certified), which rents out equipment and organizes diving expeditions from its private beach. The same hotel offers the opportunity of mountain bike rental for those who want to explore the nature of the island, as well as a car rental service.

Agia Paraskevi
In the Nisi area, 9 kilometers away from the capital, lies the small beach of Agia Paraskevi, named after the chapel located at its far end. The beach has small trees for shade, large pebbles and clear deep waters. It is ideal for underwater fishing. Nearby there is a tavern with fish and seafood.

Livadaki
North of the capital, in a small and narrow bay lies Livadaki beach (about 100 meters long). Between the rocks, lies a well-hidden small exotic beach with light sand, shallow and turquoise waters. It is equipped with straw umbrellas, sunbeds and beach bars. For sports lovers, in fact, every year, Livadaki hosts a tournament.

Lakka-Mourtia
East of Samos, at a distance of 7 kilometers from the capital, lie the beaches of Mourtia, Mikri Lakka and Megali Lakka. They are deep-watered beaches, ideal for fishing and underwater fishing. They are also perfect for fans of hiking, since Mikri and Megali Lakka can be accessed either on foot or by boat.

Klima
On the southeast coast of the island, located 14 kilometers south of the capital (of which 2-3 kilometres are unpaved) lies the small beach of Klima. The pebbled beach has relatively shallow, clear waters and is very well sheltered from the wind. The views across the coast of Asia Minor is magnificent. The beach is quite organized and is ideal for a quiet swim. At the beach and the wider area, there are rooms for rent, and after their swim visitors can enjoy a meal at the seaside taverns.

Pythagorio (Remataki)
Located some 14 kilometers southwest of the capital, in Pythagorio village, near the harbor, lies the small beach of Pythagorio (about 100 meters long). It is a beach on the south-eastern coast of the island, consists of pebbles and little sand, is not very deep, sheltered within the bay of Pythagorio and ideal for children. The beach is well equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers. Near the beach, there are hotels and rooms for rent in Pythagorio, which makes access on foot very easy. Visitors staying nearby, after swimming, have the opportunity to enjoy a meal or drink at the seaside taverns and cafeterias, right next to the beach.

Glykoriza
The small and narrow beach of Glykoriza is just 3 km east of Pythagorio and 10 km far from the capital. It is both pebbled and sandy, with shallow turquoise waters, ideal for endless fun for children and a great place for relaxation for parents and grown-ups. The beach is well equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. The trees along the shore offer shade to bathers. The beach has been awarded a blue flag. The beach is overlooked by a large resort hotel which has a pool, playground, beach bar and restaurant for guests who may wish to have a drink or a meal.

Heraion
Located about 17 kilometers southwest of the capital and approximately 6 kilometers west of Pythagorio lies the small beach (about 400 meters long) Heraion, at the homonymous village. It is a relatively shallow well organized beach with pebbles and sand, and crystal clear cold water. It has umbrellas, sunbeds and water sports facilities. In the village of Heraion there are hotels, rooms for rent, several restaurants and cafeterias by the sea, where visitors can enjoy a meal or coffee.

Tsopela
The Tsopela pebbled beach, with a length of about 100 meters, is located 29 km southwest of the capital and 18 km west of Pythagorio. The beach has no facilities and waters of medium depth, ideal for those seeking privacy and seclusion. Visitors should have with them even water, because the area has neither lodgings nor food stands. The last 7 km to the beach are a scenic route along a dirt road. Another way of reaching the beach is by fishing boat from Pythagorio.
